How would you compare the Trace 2x8 to the TC 2x8 as stand alone cabs? I play a lot of musical theater pits and like the small footprint of the 2x8 format. My amp is a Quilter Bass Block 800.

How would you compare the Trace 2x8 to the TC 2x8 as stand alone cabs? I play a lot of musical theater pits and like the small footprint of the 2x8 format. My amp is a Quilter Bass Block 800.
The BC208 is a bit more punchy and mid forward to my ears than the Elf 2x8. Together then make a great pair that has very good dispersion.
Good question. I haven't gigged this rig yet with my Genzler MG800. I will try this next weekend.

As I also own an MG-800 and I am considering the TE 2x8, I am keenly interested in the outcome of this experiment...
Well an update from last night. Unfortunately I didn't test this configuration before the gig. When I went to flip the switch on the back on my amp from 4/8 ohm to 2.67 ohm, it appears to have broken off and fell inside the amp. Not sure when this happened, as I never needed to use it. So I only used the F112 + the Trace 2x8. Sounded really nice an full. Nice lows and punchy mids.
Now I need to see if it's an easy fix.

I'm thinking that would seriously kick!

Lol! Reviving a dormant thread, I know, but I really like Elf 2x8. Used my mini stack (Markbass Minimark 2x6 combo with the ELF with wattage at 250) full band practice (rock band) and pretty fair volume (I used my ear plugs). I also put one crate under it all. It kept up. They loved it too.
I’m my estimation, it’ll be good for small to middlin’ gigs. Thinking about getting a 2nd 2x8 cab and match both with my Mesa TT800 to get the full 800 watts. Each cab is rated at 400. Btw, I love the lightness of them.
