Two Notes Revolt Bass

i have an early unit. is that a mod that only the factory can do? or could i do it myself.
Thanks for getting in touch. Can you DM me the serial of your unit and I will check what batch this is from - you may not need the mod as it was only a very small number of units that had this. It sadly isn't something you can do yourself and needs to be actioned by our technical team in France.

Thanks so much!

thanks Ross, but that's okay. i really don't use the headphones with mine so i'll just leave it the way it is.

My ReVolt arrived last weekend. I had a quick play around with it via headphones. The modern drive channel was suuuper quiet, while the others were fine. I wasn't massively impressed with the tone, particularly the modern drive, totally agree with everyone saying it is too trebbly, it's so grating. The shared EQ is also annoying, especially considering the huge difference in sounds between the vintage and modern drives.

I played with it a bit today through my little combo amp but feel it didn’t really do it justice.

Going to take it to band practice tomorrow, where hopefully I can plug it into the loop in on an Ampeg head. Will feed back afterwards.

First impressions not great, but let's see.

On the plus side, it really does look very cool, is light and has some great features.
Hi Steve, Thanks for getting in touch. The grating tone and quiet nature of the 3rd channel is a bit of a concern as this should not be the case. Could I ask that you reach out to our support desk at Support.Two-notes.com and a specialist can have a look into this for you?

Thanks so much!

Post-band practice report:
The two drive channels actually didn't sound so different through a Behringer amp and Ampeg 8x4 [edit: not an 8x4, it was a big fridge style, I cant remember the details]. However, I struggled to get the EQ on either drive channel to a point where it sounded good in the mix. I normally like a good high mid boost, but even with the mids and treble cranked quite a bit it didn't sit well.
I played the second half directly through the Behringer amp and admittedly had to use the "bright" switch to get my bass sounding right.
I normally use Di'Adario nickel strings but recently put on a new set of Rotosound Swing 66 (steel) strings. Given the experience with the direct-to-amp signal I would suspect there is something there relating to the new strings.

Overall, a much better experience playing the ReVolt through an amp and speaker than just through headphones or a small combo amp. However, I'm still not convinced it meets my needs, personally.

The dirt and drive channels should sound completely different, at least they do on my ReVolt.

If you can’t tell the difference, there has to be something wrong with the unit.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the report here. Can I confirm you are suggesting Channels 1 and 2 dont sound that different? If so, this is a bit of a concern as they are voiced very different - I think you may need to speak to our support team as it sounds like there might be something amiss with your unit - could I ask that you raise a ticket at Support.Two-notes.com and if you can DM me your ticket number, I can make sure this is fast tracked for you. Thanks!

Hello OpusFolks, I have an Opus and Hxstomp XL. Do you recommend running the Opus in the effects loop of the Stomp or after the Stomp?
Thanks,RIX
Thanks for getting in touch. Ross from Two notes here. We have seen most users putting OPUS in the FX loop with the HX Stomp to great effect. Let me know if there is any other information you need!

Sorry, to clarify I meant that channels 2 and 3 don't sound  as different through amp and speaker as they do through just headphones, direct from the ReVolt.
Hi Steve,

Thanks for clarifying here. You should notice quite a significant difference here still - did you have a chance to raise a support ticket yet? We are more than happy to troubleshoot this for you and will do our absolute utmost to get you up and running in no time!
