Another picture from a seven plus piece advance from this manufacturer, wohoo

Anyways, if you want to continue arguing you always can send me a private message

This is a late reply, but members are able to complain about the state of their orders or describe their experiences with a builder in general.

Disrespect towards people that have put money towards basses is not ok.

you have been waiting since 2016. would you recommend this builder to one of your family members or closest friends?

Exactly this. If someone you know was looking to spend thousands of dollars on a custom instrument, would you honestly recommend Prat to them? I hope he's gotten better in communication, quality, timeliness, and actually following through with what you order. I hope. But to ignore everyone's experiences (including ongoing) to blindly endorse him and the experience is irresponsible.

The **** are you talking about ? I've never do that. I don't talk about other experiment. I give a feedback about MY experiment with Oscar Prat. I just said he has now a better communication with ME and go on with his work for ME. You do what you want with that fact.
And no I woulnd't already recommend Prat. Not until I will recieved my bass. after that, I'll see. maybe if it's good manufacture, if communications stay good until that point, if I see oder good feedback until that point.

As I've already say here, I talk about fact, not told you. "Duh Prat iS THe BesT LuThiER."
I just says, things looks good for me, and people can fail. That doesn't excuse him, but how he acts right now and for future can.

When are you expecting your bass? I hope we get some photos when it arrives

Okie Dokie Folks,

I am the latest chump to have dumped a few grand over to Oscar but I really am not the roasting type. I was even hesitant to post here but folks really need to know this. I reached out to him (after reading this thread/assessing the risk) because I actually have played a beautiful Prat before. I wanted a 9 string and, just to cut to the chase, finally received mine nearly a full year after the scheduled delivery. There was a range of excuses from covid to personal tragedy. Honestly I'm not in a position to call him out on whether or not those things were true, but it was suspicious that the excuses came after I complained about the lack of communication/delay. Well, in June I said I want a refund if the bass isn't delivered. So in the end, I got the bass the second week in July. I knew even before receiving the bass, there would be trouble, since there was no triumphant post on any of the FB forums that he usually does. When you look at the overall high level view of the bass, it's stunning. Then you get a closer look and the finish work is just shot to hell. Here's the list
1) side markes: clearly an after thought. Crokked, hacked, not uniform. Glue runs on the neck
2) ALL screw bevels: not finished and jagged
3) headless system: solid hardware but the headstock string receiver looks clearly used and recessed to deep. Holes drilled in the headstock are uneven have no hardware in the or bezels. Just strings over the plain wood continuing to the nut. The nut is pretty rough cut too.
4) truss rod cover: crudely cut and too thick (pushes on the higher registry strings)
5) body screws: stripped BADLY and have lacques residue
6) intonation: string buzz and dead notes throughout the upper registry. Needs a set up.

The good: at face value....its pretty. It's very easy to play for a 9 with a super sleek neck. Sounds excellent ( nordstrand big split and 3 band preamp....maybe...still don't have the hardware/ electronics documentation I asked for) as it strands, I couldn't get 2000€ for this bass in its current condition.

In the end, supposing the foundations of the bass build are not a reflection of the finish work, I will probably end up with a crazy nice bass after 500 to 1000€ in fixes by a pro luthier. For that price I would have been in the Bordwell, Padalka, Conklin range for sure. Oscar offered to pay for the repairs and/or for me to send it back. Seriously? Also he is sending me new screws......maybe.

Buyer beware my friends.

Yeahhhhhh I'm fortunate that it's not life changing money for me. However I want to make is clear to anyone who is thinking about saving their last coin to commission a build, Prat is not the one.

As the original author of this thread it sucks you've experienced this. Really hope you get some resolve.
