That microphone is oddly positioned...

Hey PsychoScout, What kind of bass is that?

to be honest, i have no clue whatsoever... i bought it on a hunch (is that a correct english word?)

I had someone look at it and he estimated the bass round 3500-4000€, i paid 2400... she looks great and sounds great + the neck is really thin, which comes in handy as i have small hands... i'd say she's about 90 years old (perhaps older).. she's a bit taller than a 3/4, could be a 7/8, but I haven't measured anything yet...

I'll put some better pictures online when she's back from the luthier (do you guys use that word as well?)

sorry for the broken english, i'm from belgium....

There's nothing wrong with your English, and your playing technique looks pretty good too! :)

What is that, about a 35" mensure?

Ed,
The scale on that is 33" it allows me to use electric flats without an issue, although I've had spirocores on it for awhile( I'm glad they last a long time, they almost cost as much as it cost to build it). Luckily the B sting is not floppy either, for such a short scale. I had designed it to be around the same scale as the NS bass cello, both the tripod and the bass fit into a regular soft electric bass case. The body size is also narrow enough to bow. I had opted to use Piezo "Cable" (underneath the bridge), instead of an element, a less "tinny" sound by far. Used a buffer circuit from Cafe walter, then before the amp, I use a LrBaggs gig pro. It's got so much low end, it's almost a crime to EUB's everywhere.
