Been in 5 bands since 1983, Sweet Home Alabama was on all of the set lists. Thankfully, that song is deceptively difficult to play, especially if doing backup vocals or I'd hate it by now, still.....

Around 2008 that would have been mine too. People around my parts stopped playing that right around that time for some reason. Or maybe just the bands I've played in stopped playing it . I don't ever go out to see bands anymore. When I have a free night these days, I'm home.

Wicked Garden by STP. Great finger loosener, and the opening notes are perfect for dialing in overdrive.

But it's possible I've played What's Going on by Marvin Gaye more times, since I tend to play it five times in a row. Five years I've been working on it and haven't quite gotten it to my satisfaction. It's nearly impossible to get Jamerson's feel while sober, and nearly impossible to get the fingering while drunk.
