What's Your Favorite Color for a Bass Guitar?

I don't really have a preference for any one colour. But there's no getting around the fact that some basses look much better than others. I got a reverse burst iridescent blue, vaguely J shaped 5 that looks great. Very subtle. Owned it for years b4 I noticed the burst.

But the natural Ray works for me. And a handmade J with soapbars and tiny body stained so red you hardly see grain. Hell, no shame in sunburst if I'm honest.

And big up my splatter paint Samick from the 90s.

It’s wood, so a transparent color that accents and colors wood grain. Blues, purple, green, black and bright colors - no brown and no sunburst.

My 4003 Azure blue is pretty nice too.

Candy green over a metallic blue base is something special.

I miss my old Olympic White P. The way that thing would change colour with stage lighting was fun.

That Candy Apple Green over Blue sounds beautiful. I remember seeing a few special Andy Bubiak CAG Rics a few years ago.

Anything that doesn't draw attention to the bass itself because of the color is my favorite. Black, natural wood, that sort of thing.

I like lots of colors, but my Andromeda Black Gloss G&L is cool, I wanted a Black Bass (play in a metal/hard Rock band so Black is kind of the norm) but something a little different. The Himalayan Blue Satin on my JB has also really grown on me, I like it too.
I've gotten lots of compliments on the colors of these basses at gigs, mostly from women and that's ok with me.

Idk if it's my favorite, but I have really been digging Fender Fiesta Red (with white pearl) and Firemist Gold (with Tort)

It happens that I got a Vintera 60's Mustang and J in those respective colors a few months ago and I am still in awe of how beautiful they are, so ymmv

But Fiesta Red is rad

So I got inspired after reading this this thread (thank you @tb-player !). And as I was reading it, I was thinking "I wonder what everyone's favorite color is for a bass guitar?". I will go first:

My favorite bass colors are Candy Apple Red (or Ruby Red in Ric parlance), Miami Blue, and Royal Blue (or Midnight Blue or Azureglo in Ric parlance).

CAR is my all time favorite color and seeing it on a bass is no exception. I don't care about seeing entry level basses with that color, when CAR is done right, it's done right. My Ruby Red Ric 4003 in my avatar is my #1 bass and it's a stunner in person. The pictures simply don't do it justice! I'm a lucky man to have had this bass for so long!

Being a native South Floridian, Miami Blue reminds me of home. This finish reminds me of the warm Atlantic Ocean in the spring and summer as well as Miami Vice and Miami Subs. 7ender made it a color for their American Pro II series and it's absolutely stunning in person. Porsche also makes cars in this color, which only makes it cooler.

While I don't own a Royal Blue bass, this color has been a favorite of mine since childhood. It looks especially sharp with a white, anodized gold, or mint green pickguard.

Honorable mentions for me are Lake Placid Blue, Dark Night, Gold, Orange, and Black.

1. Sunburst. Classic vintage Fender jazz sunburst with rosewood neck and TORT.
Numero uno favorite classic timeless look.
2. Black. With rosewood and tort.
3. White. Aged/off-white/ivory with maple neck and white pickguard.
The Blondie look.
4. Greens or blues or sometimes silver with rosewood and tort. Tort being the key component that pulls it all together.
No matchy matchy headstock. Hate that look usually.

I DREAMED about those basses. Just plain sad that collecters may own most of them and don't play them ....
