Brown looks good. That red is pretty meh.

They both can look pretty different in a different light though.
Here’s another shot of red. With my custom shop which also has a red celluloid guard.

I just can't understand the love for red tort, but then again, I prefer J basses, to p's, Brunettes to Blondes, and most important...

I prefer pie to cake.

But if a blonde playing a red torted P-bass, walked up and offered me a piece of cake.... I'd be all in.

Put the brown one on it and sell me the red one (for half of what you paid for it now that you don’t need it).

...kidding of course, that looks really nice (red one). But my personal preference on LPB is white (or parchment, or mint green).

Well, I hate the look of toroise pickguards, and if it was me I would chose something entirely different than those two, perhaps a black with a white edge, light blue with a black edge or even blue's complementary color, yellow.

Even just a cream colored white pickguard would look better to me on that bass.

Neither of those looks good to me, and in my opinion wouldn't even fit that blue color if it hadn't been tortoise but just red or brown.

But I am obviously not you, and out of those two the brown looking one definitely wins in my opinion.
