Will boiling my pickguard improve the tone of my bass?

I tried to start a discussion about hiding your profile and how the only person who does it is a notable scam artist, it didn't go far. Apparently people think hiding your profile is a good way to foster a community. I think it's horrible but it isn't my call.

Very disappointing. I use the classifieds all the time, I spend too much money there.

It was even more disappointing when I couldn't find the complaining thread. That thread served a very good purpose for the community and now it has been removed from the community.

I believe it was "Huge Talkbass Trade Gone Wrong" or something similar, it was not the JPATA ordeal. I am still holding out that I just cannot find it.

I tried boiling my fingers instead and it made a huge difference to my sound
