A few weeks ago we had a thread like this and we determined it was a Cort-made bass under a different brand. I imagine that's the case here, too. I was thinking Mitchell since you said it started with an M, but the headstock is wrong.

Nope, Mitchell is just the word "Mitchell." I'm inclined to think it's a Chinese-made copy of a Cort, as was proposed on the last page. There are some identical four-strings with different headstock logos on Alibaba. If you haven't purchased it yet, I wouldn't bother.

There was a guy that used to sell basses on E-Bay...he was one of the employees at the Peavey Factory in Vietnam...for the life of me can't remember dude's name...but that looks like it may be his work...sorry I know not much help...

Found it. Well, sort of. It's not a Cort. Far from it. It's a Chinese wholesale bass, sold by AliBaba. I can't find the exact model but one just like it (only with 2 MM pickups). I'd stay far away from it.

Looks pretty similar, but I spot a few differences. The one @CXOXIXTX shares has individual rails for a bridge, while the AliBaba model has a once piece bridge. The original photo also has unusually tall knobs, which the Alibaba one lacks. The upper horn is shorter on the original and the inlays are different.

Could still be a cheapo knock-off, the fact that we can't really pin it down makes me suspicious, as do the unusual knobs. But maybe not? I really don't know at this point.

Good lord, they're copying Corts these days. Cort makes a great bass - I have five - but they're not exactly expensive. Can't imagine this could be much cheaper than an Action Series fiver.
