Can anyone identify this Bass just by the pictures?

Geez how do you remember all the subways? My metro card ran out about 10 years ago and I forgot to refill it.

Well, I don’t necessarily remember all of them off the top of my head, but I have a pretty good handle on how to get around because

A) Outside of a few areas cars are pretty impractical in New York

and

B) That ad has been up for a while (and I am Parkside Ave Q)…

Well thank you, sir. I feel the warm nature of NY sarcasm isn’t exactly picked up on by many. I only responded due to the location in your signature and having already seen the listing.

I would say pass, but that is just me. Or make an offer of $50, and see what happens
Ya i appreciate your insight. I’m gonna pass altogether. Was hoping it was a secret gem but another goody will show up sooner or later.

Found it. Well, sort of. It's not a Cort. Far from it. It's a Chinese wholesale bass, sold by AliBaba. I can't find the exact model but one just like it (only with 2 MM pickups). I'd stay far away from it.

Hmmm.

That AliExpress bass is nothing like the OP's, once you look at it a bit more carefully. The through-neck laminates are different dimensions to the OP's, the neck inlays, the body shape, bridge...

It's a very generic type of bass 'though and I would agree with you that AliExpress is a possible source, as it's full of instruments that look a bit like that.

I wouldn't buy it without trying it. For $200 it might be a decent bass, but it could easily be a dog too.

After accidentally stumbling upon an ad I believe the Bass is question is produced by the Myles Music in Wei Fang Shi, China. Apparently they buy surplus parts and blanks form other Chinese, Japanese, and Korean factories and occasionally build something kind of along the lines of what Ed Roman used to do with parts (except for the false marketing) and using the M for their in house builds...pretty sure that's what the M stands for...they also apparently sell parts and pieces wholesale to the DIY crowd including branded and non branded parts...looking at their website I see Mitchell, Jackson, Xaviere, Epiphone, Fernandes, Ibanez, Peavey, Rockbass, Squier, and some house brands I have never heard of...

it appears the in house builds all go for between $300 and $500 dollars U.S.

This is my first post and I’m excited. I have no other pictures of this bass so I’m taking a shot in the dark but here goes. The guy who owns it says there is an M on the headstock. At first I thought maybe it is a Vantage just because of the Oval Inlays but after scouring their site now I don’t think that. A very educated Music shop owner in my hood said possibly a Samick due to the headstock but the curves don’t seem to match up after looking at that. Idk any help is appreciated and thanks a lot. Looking forward to seeing what people think. -CXOXIXTX
I know this is an old post, does anyone who has owned one of the basses, can tell me what the average weight is? I'm looking into getting an affordable 5 string.

I purchased a Musicman clone and it is lighter than the genuine article. Actual weight, I cannot say. I did perform a comparison with my SIL's identical MM. I Had to perform some surgery on it to wire it up correctly too. Even though there was a three way switch mounted, it had not been connected to anything. Sound was pretty ordinary, too, so I pulled the pre-amp out and wired in a Belcat pre-amp. Mine has a warmer sound than the genuine one, so don;t expect anything fantastic. I also had to intonate it and adjust the action. Frets needed a little more dressing, too.
