In that situation, you just get it taken care of as I just did with my 68 Tele bass. I sent the pickup over to Jason Lollar, where it was rewound for a grand total of $150.00. Now it sounds as good as it looks.but those old lacquer dipped pickups will eventually die. then what do you have?

Agree. I would overpay slightly to have a bass owned and taken good care of by someone like him.He’s a well known player who’s been around quite a while. It’s not that much over the norm. Now, if he ever sells his Wal MKii Fretless 5, I’ll happily find 10k that I hope is somewhere in my couch…in change.
