That's a more optimistic guess than mine...My guess would be that YJ has trained/will be training apprentices to deal with the backlog, and maybe moving to a larger facility.

I was hoping for the one preceding the non-existent post. The last one Andi sent, claiming a future announcement, or whatever it was. But yeah, I hear you. There is nothing as of yet. Everyone is in suspense.
I'd rather that be the case than just packing it in.My guess would be that YJ has trained/will be training apprentices to deal with the backlog, and maybe moving to a larger facility.

If that is the case I'll be putting in a new order. But I'm not holding my breath. My guess would be that YJ has trained/will be training apprentices to deal with the backlog, and maybe moving to a larger facility.
I appreciate it. I realize that you knew it didn't contain much info, but I didn't.Here ya go. (It included some photos of recent builds):
"Summer Greetings to one and all. General announcement coming in a few days, with for now a handful of more recently completed builds shipped out to customers in the past year or so."
Seems fair to me. P classics are pretty much non-existent at the moment on the used market. I think there's one on eBay for $5500-ish.So the wife and I have been considering buying a house and instead of outright selling stuff and being very fiscally responsible, I'm meeting myself halfway and figured maybe I can trade my "64 L Series P Bass (all original except a surf green refin) for another P Classic (already have a 2016 that I adore with flats) with some cash my way. Anyone else try that same route? how did it go? looking at reverb "63 and "64 refinishes they all seem to be around 10K USD at the lower end. Would a P classic plus 5K USD seem fair?
I can only speak to the five string set; the four may sound different, but I found them to roll off all the top end above about 3k quite drastically compared to other pickups including Fender’s CS Jazz pickups. This definitely helped give them a perceived “vintage” quality although I don’t see any evidence that actual vintage Jazz pickups of the time had a similar characteristic. The result is that the Moollon J pickup excels in the midrange and has a beautiful “sit in the mix” quality about it. It never gets in the way. That said, you’re not likely to get a spanky, bright tone out of it relative to other pickups. I tried for years, and ended up buying a different bass that does that effortlessly. Moollon’s pickup stays in its (very cool) lane in my opinion. How would people with Moollon jazz basses describe the tone of these pickups compared to other well known jazz bass pickups?
Say to Fralins, Duncans, Aguilar etc. Thinking of ordering a set but have never really heard them.
Seymour Duncan Antiquity II are incredible. I had them in an American Standard for years and I always got compliments on my toneHow would people with Moollon jazz basses describe the tone of these pickups compared to other well known jazz bass pickups?

That finish...Picked up a used P Classic IV here recently from our own @melodiaopus, and while there was nothing "wrong" with the stock pickguard, I reached out to Andi and grabbed one of their tortoiseshell guards. The finish was supposed to be Ice Blue Metallic but went heavy on Inca Silver during the making. Looks pretty lush to me
