MBD rules. Period. I know my contributions are shallow but come on. We are friends here. Let’s just cut to the chase.
Sweet. You and I use ours at almost the exact same settings.
What's that black EHX pedal?
What's that black EHX pedal?
Pretty sure it’s a steel leather.
Ohh, nice. looks rehoused or refinished...way sexier than stock
I’m surprised no one mentioned this post. Scroll to the last picture. The Retro Bass Distortion!
Agree -- Seems super fair. Someone will complain.Seems fair enough. It gives everyone a chance if they want.
Let me ask you all a question. The Retro Bass Distortion is a vanity project for us. Much like the BSRI Retro Futurism, Dave and I are building a small batch and they will cost more than our other pedals due to cost of components and extra labor to build.
I am unsure how many others will want one for themselves. So we will have some available for Black Friday and will open pre-orders for a second batch if they sell out.
I plan to keep the pre-orders open for a week and then closing them down as this is intended to be a one-off project.
Between the two batches, everyone who wants one will get one.
This is fair right?
You assume those outside our little club will even know what it is.It's definitely fair. So long as you're cool with the inflated prices they'll go for later. (I'm not a flipper, but it's impossible to deny people do this.)

A more expensive MBD with less features in a bigger box with a battery drawer.Did I miss what the Retro is supposed to sound like?
Does it use the CMOS chip or is it transistor based? The Retro is the MBD as if it was designed and built in the 1970s of our imagination. The circuit blocks are achieving similar goals but the execution is period-correct. It sounds cool and its a fun art project. For a couple pedal nerds its been a nice world building exercise.
