Arkham Ultra Linear 100 on a Bergantino NV212 would be about perfect for me. If I needed more gas, a 70s SVT on an NV215 would slay.

Almost all my gigs are direct, though, so I sort of have my dream preamp, which is an Arkham Oracle.

And someday I'll grab a B15 for home, but right now my Oracle into a WD800 and Subway 115 does the trick just fine.
I sold my B15 for this…

I'm not sure my dream amp exists.

It'd comprise a pre-amp switcher, into which I could plug a few different pre-amps, a power supply with 110VAC and pedal board power, and a separate power amp equipped with a damping control and variable hpf. The power amp would either be capable of driving a 2 Ohm load to accommodate my existing cabs, or would comprise two separate amps in a single chassis.

Neither component would be large or heavy, and they would interlock somehow to create a stack that won't shift unexpectedly and could be picked up and moved as a single unit.

Bonus points if the snapped-together elements were robust enough for travel, and waterproof - in case someone spilled a drink.

Old men are allowed to dream, aren't we? ;)
Yes that would be nice.
Also 2 channels of the old SVT is nice.

2/4/8 ohm selector is a important feature for me.
That’s why I do not own a SVT anymore.

Reduce the power e.g. 300 / 200 / 100 watt and silent recording without cab, so I can use it live as a di too

Mesa prodigy has some of this features.

really why?
I am afraid if I own a b15 I could never sell it, even If I do not need it.
It needed to be gone through to get it up to spec and I didn't have the money to do it. So it was just sitting, I’d play it once in a while but it was kinda depressing as is was. It was my dad’s and it had been road hard and put up wet one might say.

Even though it was my dad’s and a B15, honestly in the shape it was in I had no emotional connection to it anymore.
I had my time using the B15 but I wanted something new, more potable, that had more headroom. This was my chance.

I sold it as is and got enough money to buy the Mesa rig, something else I would have never been able to afford.
Someone else had the time and money to treat it well and I wouldn't leave it in my basement to rot.

I'm not sad about it at all. In fact I get all the tone and feel from the Mesa that I liked about the B15 on it’s best days 😊

Yes, I really like the impedance switch @agedhorse added to his Subway amps.

I'm not the least bit interested in any 'bass' amp or combo on the market. All I want the power part to do, is provide power, and there are plenty of PA amps that do that cheaply enough.

As for 'tone' I can shape that easily enough with small multi FX and modellers that have far, far more shaping capability than a typical bass amp.

Speakers I can do myself.

You guys need to check out the Trickfish Bullhead 3k. To my knowledge the most powerful head on the market today. An absolute beast and will put the Aguilar DB751 to shame and that's saying something. Ive had the DB751 and its a very powerful head but nothing compared to 5000 watts of pure goodness. It has 2 amps in 1 and weighs under 13 lbs. 🤯. The weight-to-note ratio is unbelievable!

The feature set looks interesting. I wish they made a version with MUCH less power.

My ears dream amp, Mesa's very first version of their M-6 Carbine, the Fathom.

I've never heard another amp quite like the Fathom version, and that includes the later versions of the standard M-6's.
(I gigged many years with a Fathom and had a standard M-6 as a backup head.)

But I'd like one that never needed updated or had to be sent back to the factory for servicing.

Fiou !!!!! Glad to read your last sentence !

Mesa pretty much kicks the b… of all amps on the market nowadays.

I was getting ready to joking respond "really, I wish it had "more power," which made me think. And for the first time in my life this is the first time that Ive ever not desired more power in a amp. And maybe moreso, I would always say that because I would desire more headroom.

Not anymore. I played a medium sized gig Sunday and the master volume was only on 2 and I had to turn the gain down because it was too loud. And I'm talking full gig level.

This amp has so much headroom that I can turn the gain of my active bass all the way up and turn the gain on the amp to around 8-8.5/10 and still not clip the amp.

I've been playing over 30 years and I've never seen or heard a amp like it. Best tone and shear power ever! That extra power is what gives your bass absolutely presence at very low volumes.
