Formula 1/F1/Formula One

Purty... and no ridiculous pink!

Apparently, there will be a Mercedes safety car this year as well, sporting bright red paint. No word yet on how they'll decide which car will pace which session, race, etc.

A few fun predictions for the '21 season...

1. Mercedes will dominate again and Hamilton will repeat as World Champ.
2. '21 will be Bottas' last season with Mercedes... as well as Russell's last season with Williams.
3. Red Bull will get more podiums than last year, chiefly due to Sergio Perez.
4. Vettel steps back onto the podium in '21... but not the top step.
5. McLaren will emerge as the "best of the mid-pack" teams.
6. Ferrari will post another winless season and have five or less podiums (mind you, they had three last season and 19 in 2019).
7. Guenther Steiner will part ways with Haas.
8. Alpha Tauri's upward trajectory will continue.
9. Alpine will surprise.
10. Hamilton will not be back with Mercedes in '22.

Anyone else got anything?

Hmm, the Aston Martins didn't do so well, comparatively.

They must be sandbagging it. Yeah, that's it; some lessons learned from Mercedes from previous seasons. :D

I wonder if the front of Alonso's suit will fill up with associate sponsors by the first race? Or is this something specifically designed by Castrol so your eye goes right to their logo?

I got a late start on Drive To Survive this year... but I'm halfway through and am enjoying it. Just like the previous seasons., you wouldn't think that year-old storylines would be appealing... but with their access, their soundbites, their camerawork, their incredible doctored audio and their dramatic editing, it's incredibly easy to get pulled in!

However, I am surprised the dual races at certain tracks wasn't covered more. If you aren't a regular F1 watcher, you'd have no idea that even took place last year by watching DTS.

Not surprising -- Lawrence Stroll comes across as a bit of an out-of-touch, rich tool.

I should finish the season in the next couple of days... before P1 at Bahrain.

2020 Season on Netflix show just came out today....:hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

BINGE BINGE BINGE!!! :D

In all seriousness, you'll be fine. Drive To Survive is a great show that offers up all kinds of great info... but it's stuff that happened a year ago. If you've been keeping up with F1 by other means, you should be well up to speed (pun intended) on that's taking place in the F1 universe.

So Bahrain practice starts on Friday....and we have only watched two episodes of Netflix Drive to Survive season 3.....

What to do???

Yes it is true...after watching all of last years races...seeing Netflix revisiting them is like a completely different experience...
Just can't get enough...

I do not want to binge as it is a special treat watching an episode each night with the Mrs.

Perhaps by the first race this weekend we will have caught up with last years Netflix season 3 ..2020..??

Good times...
I do hope by June and Montreal it will be safe to boogie on up there!

I finished season 3 earlier today. It's entertaining and solid. F1 certainly knows how to market their product to both the veteran enthusiasts and the newbies.
