Getting that tight low end fundamental note under distortion

Do you think the Supersymmetry he's using really contributes that much difference? The Cali76 TX he normally uses to use definitely did, but the Supersymmetry is supposed to be extremely transparent (apparent from a slight high end dip) and very subtle, I'm wondering if it was partially meant as a product demo/favour for Darkglass, because I can't imagine he'd stop using his Cali for it!

The SS is just as colored as the Cali, just in different way.

I'm pretty sure he ended up making the switch for the single live show in the O2 arena as well, I just remember him exclusively using Darkglass pedals for the specific play through in the video. :)

My thoughts exactly! I'd absolutely love a distortion unit for only the Mid-High end. Really surprised no one has does this yet considering how often its done in a mixing scenario.

Tech21 Dp3x, tech21 Geddy lee (the clean is a special channel that you can't change but has fat lowend and the drive you can use the tight knob to cut lowend on it) DSM subatomic, and some Darkglass do that. The new Bergantino preamp they will release you can do that to, and with the source audio aftershock i think you can do it too

By the way, another way of doing this is splitting things at the bass. That's been possible and done in various ways since the 1960's - Rickenbackers had Rick-o -sound connections, which allow this - neck pickup clean, bridge through a guitar amp. The Yamaha Bill Sheehan sig bass is also set up for this specifically.
Yeah Billy sheehan, Stanley clark, john Entwistle, dug Pinnick, geddy lee does that, but they use most of the time a bass amp/cab and a guitar amp/bass cab
