Thanks Kirk - I added fiber-optics (side position dots in blue) to the one piece (+ ss) maple neck via the fb so once done I gilded it and had Pat shoot extra layers of clear poly on the fb. I strung it with La Bella 760T white tape wounds which are easy on the fb and sound great - very controllable tone from mwah to solid fat bass depending on articulation. Unless one was a very aggressive player it should hold up just fine.
