Funny story about that Classic MM...

A buddy of mine has one on layaway that's $1200 at another location. I told him about the $999 one and he called the store where his was on layaway and they matched the $999 so they didn't miss out on the sale...
And a TB'er snagged the other one!

Good stuff!

Now THAT is a hot deal!! I played a buttery used 2011 Am Std Jazz at the local GC and was tempted, for way more $ than that. Congrats.

Was it that white/tort with rosewood one at $1219?

I jumped on this one, but while I love a white body and maple neck , I sure dont love a white guard or pickup cover, thats going to have to change.

Coulda been. It was owned by a guy who was discovered by Randy Jackson, it came out of NC, and it's got a tort guard and black cover. There's a ding on it, too.

I think your buy was a win, though.

Well the ray I gambled on today came and wow! It came with a case in mint condition , the bass is light for a ray and condition wise is an easy 8-9 out of 10 there is a few light dings in the clear and finger prints here and there that need to be polished out, but its pretty dang clean-not a mark on the neck , I really feel its a 9 out of 10 but need to polish it a bit.

So for $1024.85 I am pretty happy , thats about $100 less then I have seen even the cheapest classic ray sell for on here so I think recouping my money shouldnt be an issue.

Wow...those are some deals. Especially the '70s J and '50s P, but must agree the Deluxe and the red Am Std are priced to move. And to think that some dudes accepted 50 to 60% of those low low prices as payment in full. The used bass market is not perfectly efficient, is it? :rollno:

Gonna have to let some other lucky bassist snatch 'em up. My corral is overloaded. :D

great color combo on that ray AST. I got one in the same combo during the big coupon thing a couple summers ago. that's a classic look. I just picked up an absolutely mint dbx 166xl stereo compressor for the band PA for 69 bucks.

Yeah I am digging it for sure the neck is super flamed, I was involved in that coupon fiasco as well, wasnt smart enough to grab a ray tho!

There are some killer deals on there!

Well sadly the bass is not mine anymore, its shipping to London to its new owner tomorrow.

Btw if anyone is looking for a musicman stingray hard case I have one, he wasnt able to get the hardcase shipped.

30 days. When I worked at GC here in Santa Clara we would work with people and help them out and extended it if needed as long as some kind of payment was made. I can't speak for other stores but the guys at GC Santa Clara are real great and will try to help you out with getting a piece of gear as much as possible.

florence, ky has a peavey 1820 cab for 119.99. shipping would be huge, but if you're in cincy area.... i've been looking at it for a while, and it's just recently been price dropped. i wonder what applying some retrofitted t/s stuff could do for these old beasts, which IIRC sound pretty awesome as is.

With GC's return policy on used gear...basically you can have an item shipped to you and then return it to your local store for a full refund minus whatever it cost them to ship it to you in the first place?

There are a couple of basses I'm keeping an eye on but frankly I'm pretty sketched out by GC in general. I'd just like to know that at least I can return it to my local GC if the bass turns out to be, let's say not exactly how they describe it to me over the phone.
