The hardest part about ordering a bass...

I took it out of the box, it's gig bagged, but it still seems REALLY COLD, I'll let it sit bagged for awhile in the cooler part of my house.
There is not much of a finish on this bass, I worry more about the glue joints between different types of woods, especially in places like the bridge where multiple sandwiched wood types are screwed directly to a slab of metal. All of those things expand and contract at different rates.
I've seen separation between the neck and body near the bridge area on several neck throughs.

i'd leave it for a while - it's usually recommended to wait 12 to 24 hours in the box for the temperature to slowly reach room temperature.

so what IS it? inquiring minds want to know :D

I don't have to unbox it, It's this. Peavey Cirrus BXP.(2005?).Oiled Walnut.18 volt version.3 band EQ.Seriously beautiful Bass.Mint--
I've heard great things about the Indonesian Cirrus. (I've heard the China Cirrus is absolute garbage)
Anyhow I couldn't let it just sit there for unpurchased $249.

That's a good looking bass, and yes the Indonesia BXP was the one to own. That's the first one I've seen that wasn't the Tiger Eye flame maple top. If it plays and sounds like the last Indonesian BXP I owned, you stole it for $249.00. Some of these rivaled their USA cousins.

Very nice, congrats and enjoy.

I know, I've mostly seen the weird orange flame Tiger eye which I find... unappealing. I like the looks of this one a lot

Yeah, that flame top was marginal at best. They put the effort in, but it was still kind of unconvincing. Yours looks more like some of the USA finishes. In fact, I had to check the back of the headstock before I believed it was Indonesia made.

It's not a friggin ice cube. Let's see it. If it hasn't acclimated in the time since the OP, your house must be freezing!
I posted the listing earlier, if you really want to see it look above.
It IS kinda like an Ice Cube. I've slipped my hand inside the bag and it still very cold to the touch. It did spend all day essentially outdoors in a truck with NO DOORS and it was exceptionally cold today here, and in much of the country.
I've got other basses to play for now. :)
