Reeling is fun to play.Had our first meet and greet for the band I was invited to join. Currently, a 4 piece but looking for a female to add keys and vocal range. This will be a stretch for me but if you don’t push, you don’t grow. The goal is a 1 hour set, building 3 songs at a time.
1. BB King - “The Thrill is Gone”
2. Eric Clapton - “Cocaine”
3. Kenny Wayne Shepherd - “Blue on Black”
4. Steely Dan - “Reeling in the Years”
5. The Black Keys - “Wild Child”
6. Jimi Hendrix - “All Along the Watchtower”
7. Queens of the Stone Age - “No One Knows”
8. Lenny Kravitz - “Are You Gonna Go My Way”
9. KISS - “I Was Made for Loving You”
10. Ram Jam - “Black Betty”
I never gig multiple basses.Anyone use the Pitchfork pedal so you don’t have to carry multiple basses?
You have a ‘15. Do you really need a pedal?Anyone use the Pitchfork pedal so you don’t have to carry multiple basses?
All the songs are EADG tuning except for Watchtower. It is D# G# C# F#. I could transpose the tabs but that is a pain when there are open strings. A pitch pedal would allow me to leave the tuning alone and not mess with the sheet music. Also, only need one bass. You have a ‘15. Do you really need a pedal?
Does it sound accurate/believable when digitally transposed? All the songs are EADG tuning except for Watchtower. It is D# G# C# F#. That’s the question. The EHX demo video claims no latency and no bleed through. I see one local for $120 but maybe GC has one to test?Does it sound accurate/believable when digitally transposed?
Yah, hot colour, but...
A MIJ Capri Orange Jaguar Bass is a much better bass for a lot less... New Fender Player Series Jaguar Bass Capri Orange Bass Guitar From Japan | eBay
I don't know about Fender guitars, but they have had a couple of similar fails on recent basses, either debatable "designers", poor 'quality control' or trying to use overstocks of past parts to "work" with a new bass. (or all three)

Yah, I'd have be totally convinced or it wouldn't be worth a penny to me. Luckily the only song of many from both bands that I need to transpose is Bowie's "Hero's" which drop-D is incorporated for our version. No TSC recording of it yet - something to do as we've been playing it for years! Years ago Bond Girl rehearsed it but we never played it live. Cherie's the boss so whatever she says goes regardless of how we think of it. It was sounding good... we also rehearsed Kashmir which was never played live. We were close to killing it (great song) before Cherie pulled the plug. Such is band-life.., a bit of give & take during the process but all focused on a quality goal. That’s the question. Yah, when I first saw it I wanted to like it. Never played one but his demo was pretty convincing of a marginal sounded bass regardless of who made it or who had their signature on it.I thought the pickup choices and placement seemed interesting. I would like to hear what seems to be a mudbucker not against the heel of the neck.
Loved how it sounded. A lot. Way more than I thought I would.
play it half a step up or tune down for everything....All the songs are EADG tuning except for Watchtower. It is D# G# C# F#. A pedal that transposes is like a 'self tuning guitar right? (as in...really?)play it half a step up or tune down for everything....
I guess, tuning down half a step favors the singer and easy with the strings, not so much when you got piano in the lineup....I'm as hesitant to use electronic pitch control as most keyboardists I know.....A pedal that transposes is like a 'self tuning guitar right? (as in...really?)
I used to bring two to a gig but found whatever bass I used for the first set I would end up using all night almost every time,I never gig multiple basses.

I generally take two. Usually one’s a spare but sometimes a song or two just want a different bass.I used to bring two to a gig but found whatever bass I used for the first set I would end up using all night almost every time,
While I have a BEAD bass, everything else is tuned to D. That takes care of nearly everything I need.play it half a step up or tune down for everything....
