Well, you know, since that double 2x8 stack can handle 800w, then perhaps an 800w small-footprint head would be nice!

Oh, and Trace Elliot historically has one of the best reputations in regards to tube amps. Just saying...

Although I consider the Crazy 88 (composite) I have, along with my TC115 to be the cornerstones of my signal chain, 400 and 450 watts @ 4 ohms is somewhat restricting.

400 watts @ 8 ohms in that 2x8 format really hits the money, IMHO.

I just purchased another brand of amp at 800 watts. So the Transit Preamp will probably be my first purchase. I'm sure the ELF is great, being an old TE fanatic from the 80's, I have to budget accordingly

Yes - B&J is the Canadian distributor, I would inquire with your local Peavey dealer. They should be able to help you.

I have not tried the 1x10 yet, but regarding the ELF, it is fairly neutral in terms of tone. It is slightly on the warm side, being nice and full, but still has great clarity. You can dial in some zing, but it doesn't start off as sounding overly hyped in either the lows or the highs when set flat.

The cabs look great. I'm interested to hear how the built in amp cradle works. Is it just a notch in the cab for the amp's feet or can you actually fasten the amp to the cab like the genz shuttles?

I just recently heard about these 2x8's - very nice - as already mentioned, it would be great to see a higher wattage Elf - like at least 400, maybe 500 at 4 ohms.
