I once let the smoke out of copier motherboard when I was a field tech. It was the cutest little mushroom cloud.
It is too bad that TC Electronics does not use an ICEPower module. If they did you could just replace the module.

...not sure about sparkle, but apparently the BAM200 has sizzle....which I suspect is different than the sparkle you felt your head lacked...

Mine has been going strong (so far) since April 2021. When it finally releases the "magic smoke", into the dumpster she goes!
It does kinda smell good in creepy way…
I once blew up my Aguilar db750 in my home… that smell was incredible and lasted for dayyyyys…
Since that amp was still under warranty, I simply schlepped it back to Aguilar in Manhattan and they fixed it free of charge. I still gig that amp today.
Yeah I got my $99 Bam on Tuesday, tried it out immediately and it just made the clicking sound. So the power amp had already failed before it got mailed out (should of known with all the fingerprints it had on it when I opened the box). At least I didn’t waste any time at practice or a gig with its before it failed on me!
Anyone notice that the listing for these amps is gone now?
Mine is sitting on the porch now, but I'm stuck on a long work call. Will go grab it in a bit. Curious if I'm going to get someone else's return or a new item. I didn't buy an open-box item or anything funny.

Just checked Amazon and found the same. Very interesting. Mine was new the box (which was a tad beat up). There was no other packing box around it. The amp was still sealed in the plastic protecting bag.
Mine has worked for 2 hours of low volume so far. I also paid $16 for a 4 year "music accident protection plan".

This one I don't understand. Try it out. It's at your house. You have already paid for it. You can return it if it doesn't work or even if you just don't like the shade of red on the faceplate. You may love it. It may burn up 5 minutes in. Regardless, the shipping expense has already been spent and the item is at the door. Live a little and check it out!
Mine (refurbished, purchased on the day of the sale after the new units ran out) was DOA. It produced a rhythmic clicking sound, but no bass sounds!

Haha! It was in a school. They were happy that I broke it because they didn't have to work.
We had one that the exposure lamp harness shorted out. It burned so bad that the customer pushed it outside because it smelled so bad. The bottom side of the exposure glass & mirrors were black. I have seen 1 or 2 harnesses short out but not like this. It looked like it did not have a fuse to blow. It was a higher volume analog device.
