What the heck is this mod?

It literally could be for anything or nothing...this could go on forever. I'm gonna make so me popcorn and watch the "it could be..." answers roll in ;-) Go play it if you can and see what it does or doesn't do.
Rock on.

Yeah this. In the electronics world, that form factor is ridiculously common. It could be a single pole with only two contacts on back, or as many as a dozen. It could do just about anything.

Flux CaBassitor!

I only recently discovered that Ibanez made a bass version of the Iceman - I always kind of dug the brazenness of that guitar design, and owning one of their lawsuit Rickenback 4001 copies, I always thought an Iceman bass would have been fun - if anything, you've toned down it's garishness by re-contextualising it.

Oh man ! That back to the future bass is the winner! If that doesn't get a load of cash for charity NOTHING will! The flux capacitor is clearly the shiznit! I really want to own it! Which charity was that?

As for the OP bass with flipper switch: Who knows what it does. Could be anything. But I see two possibilities:

1. previous owner wanted to add a mod, went to the garage for a DPDT switch and that was the only one he found.

2. Previous owner got into 70s Japanese Teisco instruments (my Hound Dog Taylor guitar has a ROW of those switches) and put that in there to try for "the look".

I saw an add in the local for a Squier PBass and took a better look at the pictures (which I hope that I have posted here!). It looks like someone took a late 90's Korean Squier and monkeyed around with the electronics - the knobs definitely look different and there is a flap-switch kinda thing in between what I assume are still the volume and tone knobs. I am thinking of getting it out of curiosity, if I can get the price down. I haven't played it either - its a little out of my usual area.
The owner hasn't responded back to my questions so I thought I would turn to TB - who have never let me down.

@SacRush: that is the "mojo" switch.

Flick it on when you want the audience to do this:
