Where do you eat after shows??

I’ve done about every late night spot in Denver for post 2am food. One of my favorite now defunct places was called Mary Jane’s Pizza. They were open from 11pm to 4:20am and hung signed pizza boxes from all of the bands and entertainers that made it a regular haunt.

What is the go to post-gig food spot in your neck of the woods?

Mainly I go home, but in Denver Two-Fisted Mario's never seemed to close. Not sure if it made through the pandemic; I haven't played downtown again.

Over the years there have been a lot of places for after gig eating but not so much anymore. The one solid choice in the Austin area is Kerby Lane Cafe with tasty, healthy food choices and an always fun and funky staff where musicians are welcome. There are 3 locations and one of them is on the way home.

Yes on Kerbey Lane Cafe. We also used to go to the Magnolia Cafe on Lake Austin Blvd (gone now) and any of the Taco Cabanas.

It's not not very "rock star" but ... home. Our typical gig goes until midnight and, by the time we tear down, pack the cars, get the PA and lights back to our LS/BL's house, and unload that stuff, even going straight home I don't get back until about 3:30 AM. So I just want to make it safely back home, unload my car, and make some breakfast while I wind down.

We were the house band at a Bluegrass venue that also served food. When the show was over we packed up our gear while the audience went home. The owner then locked the door and we ate whatever was either left over or otherwise available; the food was always good and she usually refused to accept any money for it.

Now I'm in a band that plays mostly Senior Centers where we are finished with the gig by about 8pm. One of our favorite spots after that is Maria's, a local Mexican eatery. We also play for private parties where they feed us. No more really late nights for me.

Thump on,

My house. I have celiac, so eating food at home is much easier/safer.

I frequently eat before the gig, often at the place where I'm playing after I've loaded in.

If it's a "1am or later munchies thing", I'm stuck grabbing junk from 7-11 on the way home. That covers my standing Wednesday night "house band" thing most of the time. It used to be "my wife and daughter's carry-out leftovers", but Indian food at 2:30am started giving me super-weird dreams.

Since the shows can be anywhere from the San Fernando Valley to San Diego, there isn't one place. Just whatever is around.
Maybe I'll grab some In And Out on the way home. There used to be a great pizza place near the Whisky that was good, but it closed during the pandemic. Greenblatt's Deli was also near the Strip, but it closed just a little while ago too.

in the old days, in indy: a bunch of 24/7 joints serving breakfast and dinner foods (locally owned "waffle house," the huddle, the chain waffle houses, etc.), so after-hours eating was never a problem.

these days: i eat light before the gig (at home or at the venue) and that's usually it. on long drives home (2+ hours), i might stop at a loves or other truckstop and pick up a packaged sandwich.

maybe a cold beer or two (mexican lager) when i get home. :D
