Where do you eat after shows??

I can often get something to eat at the places I play. It's not uncommon for me to eat part of a meal during setup before the show, and put the rest in a to-go box and stash it in my car. After the gig I'm more occupied with tearing down and getting home. Fortunately, my house has an attached garage, so I can leave my gear in my car and I don't have to do anything with it until I feel like it.

Then I nuke my leftovers for a minute or so and enjoy the rest of my meal.

Waffle House All-star special. Waffle, two eggs over medium, sausage, grits, and toast. I usually drink a water, because, you know - I want to be healthy when I'm eating like a hog at 3 AM.

Never anything open around where I live and gig after the gig is done. So much so that one night I went well over 24 hr without anything to eat at a gig.
Up at 6am, too busy all day with kiddo and work, headed out to gig but no time to stop to grab a bite, setup and soundcheck took ages so no time after to go get some food, played the gig, went hunting fro pizza, anything, but everything was shut. Slept at the crummy motel, out in the morning finally got some snacks around 10 am on the way home. Not healthy.
I need to get in the habit of bringing something to eat.

After the smoke clears and the screams have faded to a mournful whimpering.
I make my way back to the Lair, always keeping to the shadows. Through the forest, I follow the river away from the cold light of the full moon. When at last I arrive,I enter silently and let my eyes adjust to the dark....then I usually have a couple pop tarts or maybe some pizza rolls....

Many of our shows usually provide meals or discounted prices. I rarely stop once I’m driving and always bring road food.
Back in the day we would always hit 17 Mott Street in Chinatown.. open 24/7 .. or a sandwich shop in Maspeth Queens that serviced primarily the trucking industry and made these gigantic subs.. they were opened overnight.

I am very thankful for the drive through at Taco Salsa here in Bend, which is just down the street from the venue where late shows tend to occur. The al pastor burrito is the way to go. For all you late night cats visiting our metropolis. I eat one either before or after most shows at Volcanic.

Well, I eat a lot of garbage food, but uh, I mainly subsist on stuff like samwiches, and tins of tuna, chicken, something like that from a chain store, soda, sometimes eggamuffin or cheese purritas...

Had a long-term gig in Jacksonville in the bar attached to a big, nice 24-hour diner. Part of the pay was every night after the gig, you could go in the diner and order whatever you wanted on their nickel. I was in my 30's then and still had a metabolism where I could eat like a Clydesdale late at night and not put on an ounce.

Otherwise, the usual suspects, Dummys, Awful House, and various motel coffee shops. I never lived anywhere we had all night pizza, chinese, etc. I considered a definite requirement for being a musician was having a cast-iron stomach, and I did.
