Club Bergantino! Let's See Those Rigs!

I’m interested in the ref115. Now that the ref115 has been out for a while, what are people’s thoughts?
I know there’s no tweeter which would normally be a problem. But I can just use other speakers if a tweeter is needed on a particular gig.

How would you all describe your experience with the ref115? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I picked up the other one. The ref112 is probably my all time favorite speaker. I already have the Bamp, ref112(the second is on the way), ref210, and HG310. I always regretted not having a ref112 stack. That is now remedied. Sometimes I also use a Mesa Prodigy with them. Not only do the speakers sound amazing but they look great too.

I’m not intending to use my NV610T’s together, but wow…a spiritual moment. : )

I have been admiring the hp2, and the hp2x.
All iv seen , and heard , on utube, just sound amazing, and so versatile..
The only reason iv not gone with either, is I'm computer illiterate, and any sort of "download" scares me. Iv avoided digital multi effects, for same reason. Maybe, in the future, I will be more confident, but till then, I will just "admire" others..
I'm like you, Bass Brother, and maybe worse -- I hate fiddling around with all kinds of knobs that seem to do different things depending on where the other knobs were at. That's why I went with the Forte D, and am lovin' the hell outta it!

I've an original BAmp and, sure, if you want to set it up to your liking, there's a bit of fiddling at the start etc.
But, and I like big buts 😖, I rarely change anything on it now. A fine tune of the EQ or a change of the speaker profile to match cabs, is all I mostly do.
Having the fine tuning of the EQ and LPF is terrific, if needed.
Mostly I treat it like a volume, gain, 4 knobs of EQ that it is

Still, loving it!

Exactly. The power switch and volume control are all I need to touch for the most part.

Curious, if this is something typical for an HPX2 but I noticed that I don’t get any sort of output or sound when I turn up the master volume until around the 3 line marker for it to make a sound, not sure if that typical or not.
That’s fine. The Master volume is digital based and has to meet a threshold before engaging.

Your (12”, 35 lb) cab criteria, will limit you to single Berg 112’s (8 ohms)… Below’s a quick list (newest to oldest)…
•*=current offerings
•all can be pushed hard (imo/e, the NX versions can be pushed the hardest)
•all well-balanced with fantastic mids (imo/e, the CN being the most mid-forward, but not overly)
•Berg doesn’t do boomy…they’re known for clarity, balance, and control—well worth the investment.

Neo
•*NXV112 —> 29 lbs (no tweeter/cloth grill)
•*NXT112 —> 29 lbs
•*ENXT112 —> 29 lbs (no tweeter)
•HDN112 —> 28 lbs
•CN112 —> 28 lbs
•AE112 —> 31 lbs

Ceramic
•*REFERENCE II 112 —> 36 lbs (cloth grill)

FYI—212/4 ohm (neo) cab’s are approx 49 lbs…enclosure dimensions and handle placement, make them a fairly easy schlep though.
I picked up a used CN112 from a great tber recently. It should be delivered sometime next week, and 28lbs should be a breeze to move!

Hello everyone,
I would like to add a second cab to my hdn 212, as lately I joined a quite loud band (classic rock, grunge) and last time at the rehearsal I was missing some bottom end.
I was thinking to add a second hdn 212 but cannot really find one at the moment.
I found a nice nv115 but don’t really know if a sealed cab will pair nicely with a ported cab.
Does anyone use this kind of stack?
Or maybe better to go with a new ref ii 115? Or just pair another 212 like an nxv?
At the moment using a b-amp, but looking forward for a forte hp2
Keen to buy a stack of ref ii 115 but the hdn 212 needs to go:)
Thanks

Im sure I've read more than one report in this thread that the berg NV sealed cabs don't sound great when paired with Berg ported cabs.

I had a pair of NV 115s while the low end sounded great they are not what I would say are big low end cabs.

If you like the tone of the hdn 212 you could extend your search for another to include a hdn 112 Or 210.
I used to gig a CN 212 and 112 stacked vertically.

I currently have a a ref 115 and can't say enough good things about it. Its definitely different from the above mentioned cabs and my NV 610, but its only been played at home so far.
