FREE Software Thread - Utilities & Applications You Cannot Live Without

I haven't seen anyone mention eMachineShop so I guess I will. It's not really a software to do with what you please but is useful for bass builders or anyone who wants to have something custom machined/molded. I know there have been a few people here that have used their free software to have custom knobs made for basses and other pieces. It's worth checking out if you haven't already.

BTW, not a bass only thing. Car parts, brackets, gun parts, motorcycle parts, etc., etc... Basically, whatever you can dream up.

I've been interested in Opera and thought about trying it a few times. How does it compare to Firefox, and IE? I already have both so if Opera isn't better im not gonna waste my time downloading it.

Opera is really nice. I really like it.
They only reason I don't use it it's because it's not compatible with all the web site.

Ex: 1.google page creator
2. Another for I visit (I can't reply to threads)

Can I get some advice on Launchy? How do you get rid of your start bar and icons with it?

As far as I can recall, you cannot remove the taskbar, but you can hide it.

Simply right-click anywhere on the taskbar, click on "Properties", and check the box that says "Auto-hide the taskbar", lastly click the "OK" button and the taskbar will be hidden until you bring your mouse cursor to the bottom of your desktop.
