Guitar Player can't rehearse tonight because he has to help his wife get ready for Halloween in two days.

I think my time here is done.

I joined Talkbass when I became the bands bass player. I was hoping to be a part of a community that would discuss things, especially band problems, if nothing else to vent but also to possibly get ideas for solutions. I'm not mad at anyone but the resolution to grief I'm getting ratio just isn't working out for me right now. Thanks to those of you who I DIDN'T quote here for discussing this topic in a civil manner.
People have repeatedly given you good advice about your band problems. So what?

The resolution isn't happening here, it's in what you do, which is clearly nothing. Most of us know it's hard to call out bandmates and even harder to quit a band you've been a part of for a long time. But, your bands aren't bringing you happiness, so why carry on with them.

Try taking some action to fix things or find a better band. It's really that simple.

LMAO. So asking questions about a band that's been rehearsing for over a year and STILL isn't gig ready is "bad?" You don't care about solutions, you just wanted someone to agree with you, tell you that you are right, the guitar player is wrong, etc.

How much have YOU given to the TB community?

It's pretty funny, I remember a post from you castigating someone for not liking your response, and your reply was "well you asked for it" or something like that.

Edit: As an aside, the list of TB'ers that you're "trying" to name and shame are amongst some of the friendliest and most helpful folks on the board. But no, it's not you, it's them.

We have been nothing but civil, and helpful. And oh, how you have vented.... without really utilizing any of the suggestions people made. Just because you don't take peoples' well meaning advice doesn't mean the people offering it haven't been civil. I personally told you to quit this and other projects which you seem to get involved with, which share the same problems over and over it seems, because I have BEEN THERE before - in bands which aren't functional, which are more trouble than they're worth. You keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Telling you to quit for your own sanity is somehow being 'un-civil'? SMDH.

Oh ok.

BTW, my comment was about the idea that a rant about someone canceling practice could generate 7 pages of comments (now 9 pages!).

But, whatev, enjoy your rage quit!

I think you are addicted to, and revel in drama, even if it’s your own making.

If it's in the bird it's stuffing. If it's in a dish, it's dressing. The nature of the concoction determines if it is better as stuffing or dressing.
I'm not gonna say that there isn't a scenario (other than perhaps if one needs WAY more stuffing/dressing than the bird can provide) that making dressing in a pan is better than stuffing in the bird, but what I am saying is that I can't imagine any.

My Texan wife introduced me to cornbread dressing, a truly wonderful, lovely yellow accompaniment to turkey. It's good on it's own, but comes to life with just a touch of gravy. I've never had it stuffed in a bird, but I've seen pictures. It turns into an ugly unappealing gray blob. No thanks.

This site has been slow ..probably since the upgrade... but even though I think the OP shouldn't put up with some of his band mates antics and we've got to know quite a bit about how the band or bands operates, I don't like to see most posters feel like they've been chased away.

I hope your new band project goes well.

Oh man I made the list.

My whole "your band mates wife isn't Yoko" was a joke.

For sure I'm sensitive as heck especially on the internet and TB it can get heated with opinions but c'mon it was clearly a joke.
I don't want you to leave but I also just made the point that you complain about a nearly identical issue of "No rehearsal cuz of halloween."

Join a new group then, who are seriously dedicated. I would not myself join any group b/c I am so busy with some life stuff and still building an amp rig, I don't want to mess up anyone's mojo or anyones gig record cuz of me, if I was offer a causal jam different story.
Maybe you gotta to just find new people, nothing wrong with that.

If you wanna leave TB though it is your choice, I haven't been on some social medias in months and it's been a great choice, I haven't talked on here but that is because I have no bass skills and time as of now lol.

Yeah TB can get wise, TB can be toxic and get filled with old man yelling at clouds
But I hate to say dude your post has brought both sides of the argument together at times.
Small rigs of doom and giant 8x10 came together in agreement at times on here...

Same here…made the list. I feel strangely honored and drafting an acceptance speech.

If it turns out like a grey blob, it wasn't done correctly.
