So, yeah, like I said, Pete is a very cool guy and a great bassplayer. It's obvious he puts a lot of attention to detail in his basses. The necks are also SUPER fast, and, no, they do not have oil finishes. It's a Skjold secret blend, and he would have had to kill me if he told me how he does it... :D

I'll continue building my gear fund, and I hope to give Pete some business at some point. He mentioned he might host some bass meetings in the future, which will be great fun. He also mentioned he might come see me play sometime, so I hope I don't embarrass myself... :o

Hey - nice pics, Pete has just been getting those two basses ready to send to me in the UK. Good to see you enjoyed them - they are looking great. That is a classic pic of the two Skjold boys and one of my basses :-)

Classic!

Thanks Pete!
Your customer service is the best!

Still in Iraq for about 7 more weeks - but when I get back (and have the time for long posts), I have quite the story to tell concerning Pete's customer service (and the horrors of mailing basses...especially in the Protec cases unless a certain screw is removed).

Just an amazingly gracious and talented gentleman. It was my pleasure to be able to spend some time on the phone with him as well during my time home on leave.

More on all this in about two months - just wanted to post my kudos for Pete not only as an artist and craftsman....but as a generous and gracious human being as well.

Today makes it officially one year since I took ownership of the first LP! I'll post some more thoughts later, but musically its been a great year!

Great pics everyone! Great to see Pete crankin' out the basses (and that he got a haircut!);)

Yeah Paul, it's right around one year with my Lion's Pride as well. It's been a great bass to play in a variety of settings - and a voice that's just what I've been looking for.

Pete and I were joking that I actually made it one year, as I have been known to blow out gear. Hoping to hang on to this one indefinitely.

All,

I have a gig with the Dallas Metropolitan Winds the first Sunday in April, with rehearsals the preceding Friday and Saturday. Would anyone in Dallas be willing to lend me a good 112 or 210 cabinet for the weekend? The Met Winds is locating a cabinet for me, but I am not sure what they will come up with and would like to have a good backup. I will be bringing my Markbass F1 or LMII, and will be playing my J5 and my Ergo EUB about equally during the gig. It will not be heavy duty for the speaker cabinet.

Also, for those of you in Dallas - I hope you will come to the show, which I believe will be Sunday evening at the Meyerson.
