Hello John ,

I will be taking some pics of the current batch . Many things happening here at the moment . The stock page is still valid , although most of what is reserved has been completed and delivered . Many of the stock basses have been in production since I got to Ohio , so there has been more work done on all of them .

Pete

PS is it time for Part V ? :hmm:

I'm looking forward to the pics.

Maybe to commemorate Part V, you could change your location to Ohio? ;)

I just had to post some pictures of my bass. For those of you waiting for up to date pictures of your bass, I feel your pain. I thought my bass would never come. And as nice as the pictures are, they do the bass no justice. When you open the case for the first time and see it in person, it's like seeing your first born. Once you play it for the first time, you will find it hard to put down. I took delivery of mine in June of 08. I had the pleasure of playing a gig just hours after receiving it, and I have not grown tired of it; if anything my appreciation for this instrument has grown. It has made me a better player, because the more you play it, the more you want to play. I am trying to send some sound clips but I am having difficulty with formatting. So guys, it's worth the wait, and if you can't wait, buy one from his inventory...it's all good. One last thing; next week I will be at Gerald Veasley's Bass Bootcamp. One of the guest instructors will be David Dyson. There will be two Skjold's rocking the house.

Thanks. And I will. You should attend, it is a lot of fun. This year Adam Nitti, Andrew Gouche, Victor Wooten, Anthony Wellington, Matt Garrison, David Dyson, and J.M Stevens. Guest who are in town for the Berks County Jazz Festival also drop in. Last year Brian Bromberg stopped by. It is a weekend that inspires and challenges you to take your playing to the next level. Michael Tobias will be there and will conduct a clinic on how and why he builds basses the way he does. In addition, he always gives away a couple of really nice basses and gear. We start at 8:00 a.m and go until 2 -3 a.m. We have sessions that start at mid-night, called Night Owl courses.

That sounds great, I hope to attend one year. Enjoy!!!

Here's mine. It is killer already and the tonal options (whoa man). Man this is going to be my single bass solution.
Yeah, and this pic isn't even approaching scratching the surface of thinking about maybe even coming close to the same universe of doing that top any justice. When that thing has a finish on it... oh... my... gosh... :)

I just own ONE ... for the moment .... ;)
I hesistate in the next for the moment, I need a Jazz body type (maybe Skjold / Sadowsky / celinder...I don't know)
Is someone made some A/B comparisons in between ?

I have J-style basses from a number of manufacturers (including Skjold, Sadowsky, Celinder, Nordstrand, Lakland, Fender and others). What are you looking for?

Tom.

Good punch, clarity, good lows but not excessives, great mids,
and tight highs, but doesn't want that kind of hissles ...
so, defenitely, full everywhere on the frequency range, with
a good electronic very transparent and respectuous of the luthier job ...
Is it quite clear ?

Yes. PM Sent. :)

Fellow Skjold lovers...........

I really only play my Skjold these days and am considering a new rig. I have a Glock Heart Rock and Epi410UL but it's just not doing it for me.

Just starting in a soul/funk band - what would be your recommendations for a rig please?

(I did a search and nearly went blind looking through this thread but no real joy there)

Thanks
