The official WAY HUGE club!

I thought the same thing but the only adjustments inside are for selecting one or two octaves and adjusting the phaser. I called Way Huge / Dunlop and the tech told me there was no internal adjustment for volume.

Thanks for the link. Great gutshot of the Atreides in the PDF — and not a volume nor gain trimmer to be seen.

I don't think it's a bad batch, I think that's just how the volume works. People on Reddit who have received said pretty much the same thing. My guess is that the massive amount of gain serves two purposes; 1) It gives the pedal enough gain to be able to run the sub signal solo. 2) It allows the pedal to hit tube amps or consoles super hard for added saturation/harmonics. Both of these things would be beneficial to guitar players and keyboardists. Sucks for people playing into clean solid state amps though.

I think I'm going to wait and pick up a used unit or wait for a 25% off coupon. I like it but not sure how much I'd use it.

Just received my beautiful new Atreides SweetWater special edition.

First off, first class packaging. Pedal came with lots of stickers and a cool tin ful of picks. I never bought a Way Huge pedal so this may be standard. Either way, nice touch!

Ok, volume. I am happy to report I am having no issues at all with my pedal. I don't have to set the volume slider very far up, and I agree the pedal has huge output volume, but I am getting no spikes or weirdness. The range is smooth the whole way up. I will agree that the volume slider can reach levels totally nutso, but I can set it where I like it just fine.

The pedal is much more bassy than I thought it would be, but you need to keep the bright knob very low. Anything above 25% takes you into trebly territory.

Other than that I think it is a very intuitive pedal that sounds amazing. I'll post clips at some point.

Here is a short blast. The only knob I twiddle is the rate knob a couple times. Most sliders set low. This is a pedal you must set fairly conservatively in order to fully be able to use it musically. If I go much higer on the sliders it becomes super unstable, which might work for some people. This pedal IMO deserves a spot in any bassists arsenal of sounds.

Awesome. Mine should arrive today also. I’m glad the volume issues some people are having seems to be a fluke and not a feature, hopefully they will get them sorted with working pedals soon. And yes Way Huge packaging is always top notch with extra goodies, I wish the still did the buttons.

Mine arrived and no weird volume issues either. I noticed the pedal is real dependent on how and where you play to get good even sounds without glitching out. It seems to like neck pickup and with tone rolled back and volume down a touch(probably depends on your playing style) I also noticed after I was done with it it came set to two octaves down which might explain the heavy bassiness. I set mine to one down but I probably won’t get to play anymore tonight but I also plan on checking out the regen on the phase next time as well.

I got from a call from Sweetwater today...I won't be receiving a replacement ATREIDES...no new stock until 8/31/21. It sounded great for the few minutes I actually used the pedal...would have enjoyed it more if the pedal I was shipped didn't have a defective volume slider.

That sucks. I am LOVING mine. I can't believe they are taking that long.

Ooof. Thought about pre-ordering one from batch 2, but that's faaaaar longer than I would have anticipated.

Using a passive jazz, the pedal volume is fine - definitely set very low (around 2/10) - but no issues. Only the volume pedal has a very limited useful range - the other sliders can be used full range. The bright slider definitely kills bass when set high. I could see a user with an extremely hot bass finding this pedal useless without another pedal cutting the volume in front of it.
